Thomas is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania and an Attending Physician at the Michael Crescenz VA Medical Center.

I direct the Skin Translation Core at the NIH-funded Skin Biology Disease Resource Center (SBDRC), lead the Research Residency track at Penn Dermatology, and run the Duhring Lecture series.

I lived in New York City until I was 10-years-old and then moved to the Palo Alto, California. I went to college at Stanford University and earned my MD and PhD degrees from the joint UCLA-Caltech Medical Scientist Training program.

As a graduate student, I trained with Nobel Laureate David Baltimore studying gene regulation. I returned to Stanford for Dermatology residency and performed a postdoctoral fellowship with Seung Kim (Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Stanford University) studying developmental biology.

I enjoy spending time with my family, playing golf, watching sports (Stanford, Mets, Yankees, Giants, Warriors, Rangers, and now Eagles), and visiting the Haunted Mansion at Disney World.
